This page is a place to share information about robber flies of the southeastern U.S., specifically in Florida which hosts 109 species (plus 18 hypothetical). It’s only missing about a dozen species that occur in AL and GA.
I have been interested in robber flies for 20 years, and I’m still learning. Some species are cosmopolitan and easy to identify. Others are rarely seen and difficult to identify. Who am I kidding, some of the common groups are difficult to ID too. I’m creating this page to help myself as much as share information with others. I hope you find it useful! – Steve Collins
Pages are organized by genus, except for the subfamily Leptogastrinae
